Position
Description:
The Resident Service Coordinator (RSC) develops and coordinates support services for residents. The RSC will ensure resident and community success through close work with property management, building and sustaining relationships with local and regional partners, planning programs and other on‑site opportunities for residents, and working one‑on‑one with residents to assist them in achieving their goals and maintaining housing stability.
- Assess and coordinate resident referrals and resources by recommending solutions to resolve resident issues impacting their lives and refer them to suitable community services, resources and entitlement programs as appropriate.
- Build relationships with residents to better understand their aspirations and goals and connect them with local resources and opportunities.
- Create partnerships with local organizations to implement community engagement initiatives, including required contracts.
- Assist residents at multifamily and senior properties, including elders and disabled residents, to maintain independent living with programs that address health concerns such as fall prevention, nutrition, grief and loss, medication management, incontinence care, healthy weight loss, brain health, and general social‑emotional wellbeing.
- Lead coordination of resident support and resources on housing‑stabilization issues such as late rent payments, housekeeping, and lease violations.
- Collaborate with property management to develop program budgets that reflect the needs of residents and comply with financial obligations.
- Use Beacon’s data collection and analysis systems to document services provided and outcomes achieved.
- Track and monitor the property’s Community Engagement budget.
- Process Reasonable Accommodation requests for residents with disabilities.
- Attend weekly meetings with the property management team as required.
- Experience with older adults, isolation, health, wellness and social determinants of health.
- Experience with youth and families, workforce development, enrichment, education and asset building.
- Ability to respect diverse values and respond appropriately to cultural differences in program planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Capacity to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, staff, volunteers, interns and community partners.
- Ability to collect, track and analyze data to assess programs and inform strategies.
- Proficiency with technology and an interest in integrating new tools into programming.
- Operate timely, consistently, and professionally, delivering excellent customer service.
- Excellent communication, organization, problem‑solving and writing skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and other computer programs.
- Knowledge of Yardi, property‑management databases, Family Metrics is a plus.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local housing policies is a plus.
- Willingness to work some weekends and evenings.
- Bilingual in English and a minority language (e.g., Spanish, Cape Verdean, Haitian Creole, Mandarin, Russian) is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree focused in social work, human services, public health or community development, and 3–5 years’ equivalent experience providing services in a housing or non‑profit social‑service setting, or youth and family/senior services.
Compensation$58,000 – $72,400 per year. Actual compensation varies by skills, experience, qualifications and geographic location.
