Senior Program Assistant (Part-Time – 20 Hours/Week)

South Boston Neighborhood House is seeking a Senior Program Assistant to support our Senior Program team in delivering engaging, participant-centered services for older adults. This part‑time role focuses on promoting health, wellness, social connection, lifelong learning, and community engagement while helping participants access resources and remain connected to their community.

Schedule
  • Monday & Wednesday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 11:00 AM–3:00 PM
  • Monthly weekend social events and trips (as scheduled)
Responsibilities
  • Welcome and engage older adults in a supportive environment.
  • Coordinate health, wellness, educational, recreational, and social activities.
  • Support meals, shopping assistance, outings, workshops, and special events.
  • Build relationships and encourage participant engagement.
  • Connect participants with community resources and provide follow‑up support.
  • Maintain records, attendance, and program documentation.
  • Assist with outreach, transportation coordination, and program logistics.
  • Collaborate with staff to evaluate and strengthen programming.
Qualifications
  • Experience with older adults, human services, community programming, education, or related fields preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using technology and maintaining program records.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
  • Creative, flexible, and committed to inclusive, participant‑centered services.
