Job Summary

The Residence Life Coordinator is responsible for fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive residential community within a luxury high-rise building that serves a diverse population, including families and individuals transitioning from homelessness. This role designs and implements community-building activities, promotes resident engagement, and supports housing stability through relationship building and collaboration with service staff.

The Residence Life Coordinator plays a critical role in bridging the culture of a high-end residential environment with trauma-informed, supportive housing practices, ensuring all residents feel safe, respected, and connected.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and collaborate with property management's Residence Life Coordinator to plan and implement a full spectrum of educational, social, and recreational activities for all residents.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a monthly calendar of inclusive events and activities for residents of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Develop programming that promotes community integration between market-rate residents and formerly unhoused individuals.
  • Organize workshops focused on life skills, wellness, financial literacy, parenting, and social connection.
  • Partner with local organizations and vendors to enhance programming opportunities.
  • Gather resident feedback to continuously improve engagement efforts.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
  • Serve as a visible and approachable presence in the building.
  • Encourage resident participation in community initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Residential Housing Program Manager and St. Francis House team to align programming with supportive housing goals.
  • Coordinate with case managers, clinicians, and property management to identify resident needs and trends.
  • Act as a liaison between residents, property management, and service staff when appropriate.
  • Support lease compliance and community expectations through engagement not enforcement.
  • Apply trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices in all interactions.
  • Be mindful of the unique needs of formerly unhoused residents, including barriers to engagement.
  • Help reduce isolation and promote housing stability through meaningful connection.
  • Maintain accurate records of events, attendance, and resident engagement metrics.
  • Manage program budget for activities and supplies.
  • Prepare monthly reports on programming outcomes and participation.
  • Ensure all activities comply with building policies and safety guidelines.
