Overview
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help revolutionize cloud file storage for workloads like GPU-heavy AI/ML workloads, high-performance computing (HPC), and enterprise applications. Launched in 2018, Amazon FSx for Lustre is an AWS service that provides fully managed, high-performance file storage for some of the most critical and largest-scale workloads running on AWS today. With Amazon FSx, you can provision a Lustre parallel file system that can process massive data sets at up to hundreds of gigabytes per second of throughput, millions of IOPS, and sub-millisecond latencies.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will design and build transformative new customer experiences on Amazon FSx for Lustre. Delivering a reliable and high-performance service at AWS scale requires engineers with deep technical expertise and creativity. At Amazon, we expect engineers to interact with customers, understand business goals, innovate rapidly, and deliver high-quality, ground-breaking functionality. - Lead key software initiatives for the FSx for Lustre service
- Mentor and teach junior engineers
- Design, architect, develop, deliver, and operate file system capabilities
- Work with product managers, principal engineers, and senior leadership to define and deliver on the technical strategy for FSx

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with distributed systems, large-scale applications, kernel/C development, file systems
