Senior Manager Software Engineering - Retail Pharmacy

This Senior Engineering Manager will be a part of our Pharmacy Technology organization which is comprised of numerous teams that support, enhance, and create new programs and services that support our suite of pharmacy services.

The development of these programs will help build our next‑generation platform to ensure the delivery of use cases into products focusing on helping people live healthier lives. In this role and within this team, you will work on applications and products that are on the forefront of technology.

In this role, you will:

• Partner with application owners, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short‑range technical solutions that meet business requirements.
• Analyze and contribute to project and business requirements based on product team milestones and priority.
• Actively participate in Agile Scrum team activities including Sprint Planning, Grooming, Scrum, Reviews and Retrospectives.
• Be a technologist and work with other Engineers in planning, prioritizing and performing assigned tasks within deadlines.
• Will be responsible for end‑to‑end application development & delivery including production deployment, application operationalization, and observability.
• Develop applications/web services and cloud native apps using Sprint boot , GCP, REST API and other tech stacks (Open source and proprietary).
• Unit testing using framework such as Junit, Mockito.
• Build and deploy services using Git Hub, Circle
  
  CI, Harness as part of CI/CD process in leading Cloud Platforms - AWS, GCP or Azure etc.
• Continuously checking and monitoring App health and KPIs, support triage of any production issues as and when needed.
• Adopt and apply industry technology best practices.

• 7+ years software development and requirement analysis, design experience using Java and Springboot
• 5+ years of proven experience in product/software engineering leadership roles
• 5+ years successfully working in IT projects in an Agile development methodology
• 3+ years experience working on multiple IT projects on varying technology stacks especially cloud‑based technologies Azure or GCP
• 3+ years experience in modern programming languages and cloud‑based technologies

• Experience building and operating large scale distributed systems
• Have a strong desire to see others succeed by mentoring and coaching other engineers through pair programing
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change requirements
• Strong understanding of observability and using telemetry to inform decision making
• Experience working in a Scrum/Agile development methodology
• Ability to work independently and part of a team
• Domain experience within retail or ecommerce

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
