Artera’s Engineering team is looking for a talented Engineering Manager to lead a team of 4-6 engineers. The team is a high‑impact, flexible squad that intersects with multiple teams across the organization to handle integrations, authentication, and critical government contract work. You will be directly responsible for ensuring your agile team delivers with high quality and velocity, acting as a "player coach" who is willing to be hands‑on to ensure clear accountability and a high technical bar.

• Team Development
  :
  Coach, mentor, and guide engineers in technical skills, career growth, and communication, ensuring a continuous focus on building and scaling high‑performing individuals.
• Technical Leadership
  :
  Uphold a high technical bar through rigorous code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision‑making. Foster strong security and compliance practices, and stay hands‑on with the code when needed to support delivery and set the standard.
• Hiring & Retention
  :
  Conduct interviews and build stable, high‑performing teams, specifically focusing on providing stability for a team that has seen recent management rotations.
• Operational Excellence
  :
  Review existing processes and proactively offer improvements rather than just following established workflows.
• Execution & Delivery
  :
  Own outcomes end‑to‑end. Ensure tradeoffs are explicit, commitments are met, and misses are identified early through proactive escalation.
• Strategic Collaboration
  :
  Partner in a Triad structure with Product and Design. Navigate the team through a fast‑paced environment with constant change and shifting priorities, including AI‑assisted development.
• Accountability
  :
  Ensure that leadership is never surprised by team status and that a deep level of trust is built with the engineers.
• Player-Coach Mindset
  :
  Maintain a "must‑have" mindset for hands‑on work; while not coding daily, you are ready to step into the code to unblock the team or expedite delivery.
