Senior Manager - Software Development Engineering

Position Summary

This team is responsible for CVS’s digital transformation and all digital products; as well as the development and execution of the digital roadmap. As Senior Engineering Manager, you will manage a high‑performance mobile apps team for CVS customers. Our mobile apps teams are cross‑platform – native iOS and Android. You will lead an engineering team in an agile environment building solutions and working closely with Product and UX. The key to success is a strong and innovative approach to problem solving, great technical leadership, excellent communication, flexibility, and a self‑motivated working style with attention to detail on top of a customer‑first mindset.

• Lead a team to design, build, test, deploy and maintain native iOS and Android mobile apps and backend services.
• Raise the quality bar of our mobile apps.
• Actively participate in the design and architecture process for new services across teams.
• Instrument features with metrics and tracing, so you always have a clear picture of how things are operating.
• Participate in code reviews within your team and frequently with other teams.
• Mentor team members and contribute to building a strong consistent engineering culture.
• Work with other departments on collaborative projects.
• Mentor and share knowledge with the team.

• 7+ years of software development experience building customer‑facing applications.
• 5+ years of experience managing backend, frontend, mobile or web teams.
• 5+ years of experience in any of the following programming languages:
  Java, Angular, React, Mobile stack.
• 3+ years of experience working with highly available, large‑scale, high‑performing applications.
• 3+ years of experience with any of the following public cloud platforms: GCP, AWS, Azure.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Circle
  
  CI, ArgoCD, Git Hub Actions.
• 3+ years of experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.

• Excellent communications, organization, and time management skills.
• Experience having architected, designed, and delivered mobile applications.
• Experience defining the architecture or solutions for mobile applications.
• Experience in Flutter or mobile application development.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (high school diploma plus 4 years relevant experience).

The typical pay range for this role is $ – $. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This role is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

This role also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
