Senior Software Engineer - Red Hat Observability Service

Job Summary

The Red Hat Observability Service team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in the USA. The role collaborates with peers and senior engineers to ensure the delivery of high‑quality software features and solutions, resolving routine and semi‑routine issues.

• Support Red Hat Observability Service (RHOBS) – Loki Stack integration and continued support/troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with SRE to optimize user experience and develop enhancements for the logging stack for future Multicluster requirements.
• Follow the lead of other engineers and architects to create and review software design proposals on feasibility, scalability, security, maintainability, and fitness to purpose.
• Analyze system performance metrics to participate in capacity planning activities and resolve system performance issues.
• Write automated testing routines to verify the continued correct operation of new and existing features.
• Provide software updates and promote them through the CI/CD environment.
• Review requests for enhancement (RFE) with product managers to establish system requirements and designs.
• Adhere to and follow defined Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC) processes.
• Proactively leverage AI technologies to streamline workflows, simplify processes, and enhance overall efficiency.
• Experiment with AI‑assisted tools such as code generation, auto‑completion, and intelligent suggestions to accelerate development cycles, improve code quality, and support test design, automation, and peer review throughout the development lifecycle.

• 4+ years of experience with Python, Golang, and Rust in designing, programming, and maintaining complex software.
• Experience working in large‑scale, distributed production environments managing reliability, performance, and scalability challenges.
• Container orchestration experience with Kubernetes and/or Open Shift

• Understanding and awareness of Cloud Platforms.
• Ability to analyze software code for performance and correctness.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization skills for software code and systems.
• Experience implementing automated testing scripts and procedures to validate software functionality.
• Awareness of Agile principles and frameworks and their application in software development.
• Proficient with version control systems (Git) for managing code versions and collaboration.
• Understanding and awareness of operating systems, including Linux.
