Job Title

Senior Software Engineer – Out Systems and Integrations

Location

Boston or Atlanta (Hybrid, requires two days in office weekly)

What You'll Be Doing

Provide support for existing systems, processes, and applications through incident handling, troubleshooting, and monitoring of executed code.

Offer guidance on best practices and development techniques to involved teams.

Communicate with other IT teams on software issues and improvement suggestions.

Report solutions, expectations, priorities, status, and impacts to all levels of business and IT management.

Collaborate closely with customers, Business Analysts, and technology partners to understand business requirements and translate them into high‑quality technical solutions aligned with business and IT strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in various phases of SDLC across multiple development projects.
  • Design solutions and produce supporting documentation in accordance with the company's Change Delivery Framework.
  • Enforce reuse, design, coding, and testing standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with test teams during product test and UAT phases to fix assigned bugs.
  • Support code deployment across environments.
  • Report status, issues, and risks to tech leads regularly.
  • Troubleshoot and problem‑solve issues arising in day‑to‑day operations, providing timely responses and solutions.
  • Enhance software engineering skills via certifications and professional development.
Skills and Experience
  • Hands‑on experience across the Out Systems development lifecycle (requirements, design, build, test, release, and support).
  • Experience developing and maintaining Out Systems applications.
  • Strong understanding of Out Systems architecture, performance best practices, and platform governance.
  • Proficiency with integration patterns in Out Systems (REST/SOAP, APIs, databases) and troubleshooting integration issues.
  • Experience extending Out Systems with custom code and integrations using .NET (C#) and RESTful services.
  • Practical knowledge of Azure services for application hosting and integration (App Service, Functions, Storage, Key Vault, API Management).
  • Experience with CI/CD and environment promotion for Out Systems and supporting components.
  • Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases (SQL Server and/or Oracle) including performance tuning basics.
  • Ability to produce clear technical designs and operational documentation for Out Systems solutions and integrations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with product, QA, and platform teams throughout delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience designing and implementing frontend applications.
  • Experience with API Management platforms.
  • Experience with cloud serverless applications.
  • Experience with mobile/tablet development, including responsive design and hybrid applications.
  • Knowledge of Agile approaches (XP, Kanban, BDD, TDD).
  • Insurance experience is desirable though not essential.

Salary Range

$125,000 – $165,000, depending on scope, complexity, location, qualifications, and other factors.
