Principal Software Engineer – Enterprise and Platform Engineering (Boston, MA – Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop high‑impact, scalable and resilient features for the SaaS‑based CAD/PDM service.
- Take end‑to‑end ownership of critical modules: write production‑quality code, profile and optimize algorithms, and ensure clean, testable and maintainable solutions.
- Partner with Product Management, UX and other engineering teams to define specifications, influence long‑term technical strategy, and ensure design consistency across platforms.
- Lead and participate in design and code reviews, setting high standards for clarity, maintainability, security and scalability; mentor engineers of all levels and encourage technical depth and creative problem‑solving.
- Diagnose and resolve high‑impact production or customer issues quickly and effectively.
- Expertise in Java and its ecosystem, backed by solid computer science fundamentals, algorithms and data structures.
- Extensive experience building multi‑tenant backend infrastructure systems and services using Java, Spring, Mongo
DB and Elastic. - Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Experience building and scaling cloud‑native architectures with a focus on high availability, fault tolerance and cost efficiency.
- Strong understanding of networking, security and operational best practices.
- Experience building products for large enterprise customers with complex security, delegation and collaboration needs.
- Providing guidance and technical support for junior engineers through reviews, one‑on‑one meetings and training sessions.
- Ability to lead design and implementation of complex software systems, ensuring high‑quality code and adherence to best practices.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent software development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience building distributed, data‑intensive systems using Java and database technologies.
- Expertise in Java, Spring and Mongo
DB. - US Citizenship required for work with FedRAMP and Gov Cloud.
- Proven track record of delivering high‑quality, production‑ready software in Agile environments.
The anticipated annual salary range is $112,000–$196,000, depending on skills, experience and location. Candidates may also be eligible for performance‑based bonuses and our employee share purchase program. Other benefits include:
