Principal Software Engineer – Enterprise and Platform Engineering (Boston, MA – Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high‑impact, scalable and resilient features for the SaaS‑based CAD/PDM service.
  • Take end‑to‑end ownership of critical modules: write production‑quality code, profile and optimize algorithms, and ensure clean, testable and maintainable solutions.
  • Partner with Product Management, UX and other engineering teams to define specifications, influence long‑term technical strategy, and ensure design consistency across platforms.
  • Lead and participate in design and code reviews, setting high standards for clarity, maintainability, security and scalability; mentor engineers of all levels and encourage technical depth and creative problem‑solving.
  • Diagnose and resolve high‑impact production or customer issues quickly and effectively.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Expertise in Java and its ecosystem, backed by solid computer science fundamentals, algorithms and data structures.
  • Extensive experience building multi‑tenant backend infrastructure systems and services using Java, Spring, Mongo

    DB and Elastic.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience building and scaling cloud‑native architectures with a focus on high availability, fault tolerance and cost efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security and operational best practices.
  • Experience building products for large enterprise customers with complex security, delegation and collaboration needs.
  • Providing guidance and technical support for junior engineers through reviews, one‑on‑one meetings and training sessions.
  • Ability to lead design and implementation of complex software systems, ensuring high‑quality code and adherence to best practices.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent software development experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience building distributed, data‑intensive systems using Java and database technologies.
  • Expertise in Java, Spring and Mongo

    DB.
  • US Citizenship required for work with FedRAMP and Gov Cloud.
  • Proven track record of delivering high‑quality, production‑ready software in Agile environments.
Benefits

The anticipated annual salary range is $112,000–$196,000, depending on skills, experience and location. Candidates may also be eligible for performance‑based bonuses and our employee share purchase program. Other benefits include:
