The Role

As a Founding Staff Engineer, you'll define and implement the core systems powering the platform. You'll work hands-on across the stack, contribute to architectural decisions, and guide product-aligned engineering efforts.

You'll also help establish technical standards, influence hiring, and mentor teammates. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer excited to wear multiple hats-builder, architect, leader-and make foundational contributions to a fast-moving AI product.

Responsibilities

• Build Core Systems:
  Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software solutions.
• Contribute to the Architecture:
  Influence architecture decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
  Partner with product, design, and ML teams to translate business goals into robust features.
• Advise and Guide:
  Provide technical mentorship and help shape a high-performance, collaborative culture.
• Innovate:
  Leverage emerging technologies in AI/ML, generative AI, and hybrid search to enhance product capabilities.
• Shape Engineering Culture:
  As a founding team member, help establish engineering practices, tooling, and team values.

Qualifications

• Experience: 7+ years in full-stack software development, ideally with early-stage or high-growth startup experience.
• Technical Stack:
  Proficiency in Python (FastAPI), Type Script (Next.js), Postgre
  
  SQL, AWS, Docker. Experience with LLM APIs (e.g., GPT, Claude) and/or vector DBs (e.g., Pinecone) is a big plus.
• Product Mindset:
  Proven ability to work closely with product teams and balance speed, quality, and user experience.
• Startup DNA:
  Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on, get-it-done attitude.
• Problem-Solving:
  Skilled at designing resilient systems and debugging complex issues in production.
