The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for leading the design and implementation of complex software features and systems. This role contributes significantly to architecture decisions, mentors junior engineers, and collaborates across teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that align with business priorities.

Description:

* Design, build and own scalable and maintainable front-end and back-end systems using modern languages and frameworks.

* Leads development within the team for key application features, ensuring code quality, performance, and security.

* Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions with minimal oversight.

* Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and enforce best practices.

* Work cross-functionally across the team and collaborate with adjacent teams, including Dev Ops and QA to ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and testing strategies.

* Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to technical planning.

* Participate in system architecture discussions and clearly communicate proposals.

* Troubleshoot production issues and implement proactive monitoring and observability tools.

Knowledge &

Experience:

* 4-6 years of experience in full stack or specialized software development roles.

* Proficiency in at least one major front-end framework (React, Angular) and one back-end language (Node.js, Python, or Java).

* Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), databases (SQL/No

SQL), and CI/CD pipelines.

* Demonstrated experience mentoring junior developers.

* Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that's fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
