Onshape is looking for an AI Development Specialist to improve and maintain the AI chat experience known as the Onshape AI Advisor, a conversational assistant that answers a wide range of questions spanning sales, product capabilities, and mechanical modeling.

This is a highly cross‑functional role sitting at the intersection of CAD expertise, AI/ML tooling, and product development. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and customer‑facing teams to make the AI Advisor smarter, more accurate, and more useful with every iteration.

• Collect and triage user feedback to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Translate feedback into prioritized, actionable development plans.
• Modify and tune system prompts, language model configurations, and citation strategies to improve response accuracy and user experience.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing, evaluation, and automation of AI workflows.
• Monitor model performance over time and proactively identify regressions or areas of drift.
• Collaborate with the product team to design and validate new AI Advisor features end‑to‑end.
• Document prompt strategies, model configurations, and evaluation methodologies.

• Hands‑on experience with CAD software and familiarity with mechanical design concepts.
• Proficiency in Python, particularly for scripting, data manipulation, and API integrations.
• Demonstrated experience working with large language models, including prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, or retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to move from ambiguous feedback to concrete improvements.
• Excellent written communication skills for documentation and cross‑team collaboration.
