About the Role

At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, we have an exciting opportunity for a developer. The Developer is responsible for building, configuring, and supporting CRM solutions using the Pega platform s role contributes to delivering efficient, compliant, and scalable applications that support member services, care management, and operational workflows.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Develop and configure applications using the Pega CRM platform
  • Translate business and technical requirements into functional solutions with guidance from senior team members
  • Build and maintain case types, workflows, UI components, and decisioning rules in Pega
  • Assist in integrating Pega applications with APIs, databases, and third‑party systems
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies
  • Perform unit testing and support system and integration testing activities
  • Troubleshoot defects and support production issue resolution
  • Follow coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines
  • Contribute to documentation including technical design and release notes
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including QA, Dev Ops, and business stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3-4 years of experience in software development
  • 1-2 years of experience working with the Pega CRM platform (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of Pega PRPC, case management, and workflows
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and system integrations (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Knowledge of relational databases and basic data modeling
  • Pega CSA certification (preferred)

  • Basic understanding of healthcare or health insurance processes (preferred)
  • Awareness of compliance standards such as HIPAA and data security practices
  • Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and tools
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Minimum Education Requirements

High school degree or equivalent required unless otherwise noted above.
