Senior Software Engineer

What You Will Do

• Address bug fixes when new software is released, including error corrections to improve performance of delivered software.
• Analyze any new software feature developed for products to determine design feasibility in given release cycle.
• Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, LLC office in Boston, MA.
• Coordinate with programmers, engineers, and system analysts to incorporate suggestions and make software more robust and user-friendly.
• Test software for correct functional operations and conduct stringent performance requirements.
• Ensure timely and quality delivery of software applications and develop CI/CD tooling guidance.
• Work with Project Management and developers to understand design requirements and provide estimates.
• Lead and drive design, implementation, testing, and release of features as part of a development team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or related role OR Master’s degree and five (5) years of experience.
• Four (4) years of experience with:
  Golang programming language;
  Git, subversion, maven or SCM;
  Kubernetes and Open Shift; and Agile Engineering Process.
• Three (3) years of experience with Linux Shell programming.
• Two (2) years of experience with Design Patterns, Algorithms, and Data Structures.
• One (1) year of experience with Open-Source Project Development.

The salary range for this position is $178,131 - $225,090/year. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. The salary may differ for Remote-US locations but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant experience.

Pay Transparency:
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
