Software Development Engineer in Test (FTE)

Location:

Boston, MA (Onsite)

Salary: $100,000 to $110,000 annually

• Execute daily manual and automated test cases (HIL, SIL, and system-level) exactly as defined by Lead SW and HW Engineers.
• Operate robotics platforms and test fixtures, including flashing firmware, power cycling devices, and ensuring lab equipment is correctly staged for EVT/DVT testing.
• Run complex system tests at the intersection of software and physical robotics, documenting how hardware and software interact in the real world.
• Identify, isolate, and document system failures, capturing software logs, core dumps, and physical evidence such as photos or videos to aid engineering teams.
• Provide clear, real-time feedback to SW/HW leads on test execution blockers or inaccuracies in test documentation.
• Handle, cable, and operate physical hardware prototypes and lab test fixtures with meticulous attention to detail.

• 5–8 years of experience in QA, technical, or system test roles, preferably with integrated hardware/software products (robotics, IoT, automotive, or consumer electronics).
• Proficiency with Linux command‑line environments, Python/Bash scripting, and log file extraction.
• Strong written communication skills for creating clear, reproducible bug reports.
• Methodical, detail‑oriented approach with a focus on quality and documentation.
