Senior Software Engineer

Central Employment are partnering with a high-growth technology company that is looking to add a talented Software Engineer to its expanding engineering team in Boston.

As a Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing scalable software solutions that support a growing global customer base. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you'll contribute to architecture decisions, build new product functionality, and ensure systems remain secure, resilient, and highly performant. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies, influence technical direction, and contribute to products at significant scale.

• Design, develop, and deliver scalable software applications and services.
• Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
• Build robust, maintainable, and high-performing software solutions.
• Take ownership of technical projects from concept through to deployment.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and wider business stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues when required.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Continuously improve existing systems while delivering new features and functionality.
• Help maintain the reliability, scalability, and performance of core platforms.

• 3+ years of commercial experience in a Software Engineering role.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience with one or more modern programming languages such as Go, Python, Type Script, Java, or C#.
• Proven track record building scalable applications, APIs, backend services, or cloud-native solutions.
• Experience working with microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong focus on testing, code quality, and maintainable software development.
• Comfortable working within Agile development environments.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving technology environment.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops tooling, and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of secure software development practices.
• Exposure to AI, machine learning, or data-driven products.
• Contributions to open-source projects or developer communities.
• A passion for learning, innovation, and solving complex technical challenges.
