Job Overview
We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a team in designing and building transformative experiences for Amazon FSx for Windows, a fully‑managed Windows file system service for AWS customers. The role is located in Boston’s Seaport and will focus on managing Windows file systems at an unprecedented scale.
Key Job Responsibilities- Lead a team of software engineers in delivery and operational excellence of an AWS service.
- Hire, mentor, and promote engineers.
- Work with teams across AWS to build new solutions.
- Build mechanisms to drive the highest standards within your team.
- Work with product managers, principal engineers, and senior leadership to define the technical roadmap and strategy for FSx.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
- 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams.
- 3+ years of designing or architecting new or existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
- Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.

The base salary range for this position is USD – annually, plus sign‑on payments and restricted stock units as part of the overall package.
