Software Development Engineer – Amazon FSx for Lustre
Amazon FSx for Lustre is a high‑performance, cost‑effective, scalable storage solution powered by the Lustre file system, used for AI/ML training, HPC and other compute‑intensive workloads.
As a Software Development Engineer on the AWS engineering team in Boston Seaport, you will design, build, and operate transformative customer experiences on Amazon FSx for Lustre. You will work at AWS scale, collaborating with customers, product, and engineering to innovate rapidly and deliver high‑quality, ground‑breaking functionality.
Key responsibilities- Design, develop, and operate highly available cloud‑scale software services
- Solve complex problems for distributed systems with a diverse team of engineers
- Mentor and grow junior engineers
- Contribute to a fun, inclusive team culture
We use the latest serverless and virtualization technologies to build distributed systems at AWS scale. We solve complex, varied problems that enable customers across AI/ML, EDA, Media & Entertainment, HPC and enterprise IT. We build infrastructure‑as‑code to deploy software quickly and efficiently worldwide and automate monitoring and health of our software at scale.
Basic qualifications- 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture of new and existing systems experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling)
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Base salary range: $ – $ USD annually (Boston, MA). Amazon offers sign‑on payments, restricted stock units, health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave and other benefits.
