Senior Specialist, Full-Stack Engineer
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, Full-Stack Engineer to join our Performance & Compliance Team in the development and enhancement of Investment Analytics applications and capabilities. This role is located in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain Java & Angular based applications that can be high-volume & low-latency.
- Lead the technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
- Provide technical leadership on the implementation of application front-ends and user interfaces across the group and application portfolio.
- Engage with Product Owners and Business Analysts to understand platform requirements.
- Actively participate in code reviews, integrating software components into a fully functional software system.
- Apply security and privacy design principles.
- Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementing, and documenting.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
- 3-4 years of experience as a Java & Angular developer/programmer, with proficiency in Java 17, Spring 6, Spring Boot 3, Angular 6 through 17, HTML, CSS, Node.js, NVM, and JSON.
- Thorough knowledge of both the user-side frontend of a website and the backend server-side that powers it.
- Understanding of micro‑frontend frameworks and adaptability to customized frontend frameworks.
- Knowledge of RDBMS (DB2, Oracle), SQL, No‑SQL or unstructured databases is a plus.
- Familiarity with design and architectural patterns such as MVC and JDBC.
- RESTful web service experience.
- Experience with microservices‑based scalable architectures.
- Understanding of on‑prem and container‑based cloud frameworks.
- Strong experience in SDLC and Dev Ops processes—CI/CD tools, Git, etc.
- Experience with event‑driven patterns (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and distributed caching (Redis, Hazelcast).
- Familiarity with OAuth2/OIDC/JWT security models.
- Capable of investigating and resolving production issues by checking code and Splunk logs.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $71,000 and $123,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, the base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short- and long‑term incentive packages, and company‑sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at‑will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
