Japanese-speaking Software Engineer

IBM Japan Digital Services Company (IJDS) is seeking a Japanese-speaking Software Engineer to lead large-scale projects across multiple industries. The role involves end-to-end responsibility from requirements definition, design, development, testing to post-release operation, and may include project leadership for qualified candidates.

• Work with local customers and manage large-scale consolidation projects.
• Involved in all phases: requirements definition, design, development, testing, and operation.
• Handle projects across a wide range of industries: finance, insurance, manufacturing, public sectors.
• Oversee 300+ concurrent projects, including open systems, hosting, and digital transformation (cloud/mobile/RPA, etc.).
• Develop ISV packages such as ERP (SAP/Oracle) and CRM (Salesforce).
• Position based in selected location:
  Sapporo, Sendai, Okinawa, Kitakyushu, Hiroshima, Takamatsu, or Nagano.

• Fluent communication in Japanese (speaking & writing, JLPT N1 level);
  Japanese CV required.
• Experience designing and developing web applications and open-system systems using Java and other languages.

• Front‑end design and development (Angular/React, etc.).
• Cloud-native application development, design, and operation (Dev Ops, CI/CD, etc.).
