Senior Software Development Engineer, Database Migration Service

The AWS Database Migration Service helps customers migrate databases to AWS easily and securely. The service is used by customers across the world to migrate their most important data from their on‑premises datacenters to Amazon services. As an engineer in the AWS DMS team, you will design, build, and operate database migration services that continuously replicate data tnering with your team, you will solve challenging distributed systems that replicate a variety of data securely at scale across different database technologies. You will be a key contributor to the future direction and growth of the service and will architect and implement the next set of features and functionality.

• Build high‑impact solutions to deliver to our large customer base.
• Participate in design discussions, code review, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work cross‑functionally to help drive business decisions with your technical input.

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large‑scale systems.

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience leading engineering teams as a mentor or tech lead.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
