Senior Software Engineer (Financial Applications/Data/Reporting)

We’re working with a large-scale financial services organization that is investing heavily in internal software platforms supporting data visualization, reporting, and business-critical analytics. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design and build robust internal applications that power decision-making across the business.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on data-intensive systems, building scalable backend services, and developing tools that translate complex datasets into actionable insights.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop internal applications focused on financial data visualization and reporting
• Build and maintain backend services using C#
• Write complex SQL queries and optimize data access patterns across large datasets
• Collaborate with data, product, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to system design, architecture decisions, and performance optimization
• Maintain clean, version-controlled code using Git and participate in code reviews

What They’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience with C# and in production environments
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and working with large, complex datasets
• Experience building internal tools, reporting systems, or data-driven applications
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and modern development workflows
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment

Nice to Have

• Experience in financial services or working with financial datasets
• Exposure to data visualization tools or frameworks (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or custom-built dashboards)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Understanding of data pipelines or ETL processes
