Senior Software Engineer - Python​/TypeScript

This role is with a DeWinter Fin Tech Partner

Mostly Remote with some visits to Boston/RI/NH offices

12 Month + contract (or contract to hire, if desired)

This is a hands-on senior engineering role on a small team building a greenfield, customer-facing platform. The environment has a startup feel - small team, high ownership, fast development but within the scale and standards of Fidelity.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep experience in Python, Type Script, and Node to help define and build our core data platform. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who thrives in startup environments - someone who can move fast, make smart architectural decisions, and iterate alongside product and data teams.

You'll be responsible for designing APIs, building scalable microservices, and connecting blockchain data sources to enterprise-grade insurance analytics.

• Architect and implement backend services and APIs using Python / Type Script / Node.js
• Design and scale data ingestion pipelines for blockchain and crypto datasets.
• Build reliable, secure systems on AWS (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, API Gateway, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with data engineers and product leads to define data schemas, access layers, and platform integrations.
• Set technical direction and establish best practices for performance, testing, and observability.
• Contribute to early product decisions, feature prioritization, and roadmap shaping.

• 5+ years of experience building backend systems in Type Script / Node.js / Python.
• Strong foundation in AWS services and cloud architecture.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced startup environments - adaptable, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Experience designing APIs, data pipelines, and event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of or strong curiosity about crypto / blockchain technologies.
• Bonus: exposure to insurance data, risk analytics, or regulatory systems.
