Role Purpose

The Skycap is responsible for assisting airline passengers with curbside and terminal baggage services while providing exceptional customer service. This role supports travelers by handling luggage, assisting with check‑in processes, and offering directions or assistance throughout the airport experience in a professional and courteous manner.

What you will be doing
  • Assist passengers with loading, unloading, and transporting baggage at curb side and terminal areas
  • Provide curb side check‑in assistance, including baggage tagging and ticket verification when applicable
  • Escort passengers to airline counters, gates, or designated airport locations as needed
  • Assist elderly passengers, individuals with disabilities, families, and travelers requiring additional support
  • Maintain accurate handling and tracking of passenger baggage to ensure proper routing
  • Operate baggage carts and related equipment safely and efficiently
  • Provide airport directions, flight information assistance, and general customer support
  • Ensure compliance with airline policies, airport procedures, and TSA regulations
  • Maintain a professional appearance and deliver excellent customer service at all times
  • Monitor curb side and passenger service areas for safety, cleanliness, and operational concerns
  • Communicate effectively with airline staff, baggage teams, and supervisors
  • Support operations during peak travel periods, delays, and irregular operations
  • Perform other duties as requested

What we are looking for
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy baggage regularly
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • Previous customer service, hospitality, airport, or baggage handling experience
  • Airport curb side, terminal, and baggage service areas
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and high passenger traffic
  • Fast‑paced environment with frequent passenger interaction
  • Requires standing, walking, lifting, and transporting baggage throughout shifts
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and maneuver baggage carts safely
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to take verbal directions in English
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
  • Must pass pre‑employment and random drug tests
  • Must pass a pre‑employment background check
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
  • Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials
  • Identification badges must always be visible
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives
  • Treat all information as confidential
