- Prior experience delivering merchandise to customers using a box truck or similar vehicle
- No more than two minor accidents in the past rolling three years
- No more than two moving violations in the past rolling three years
- Driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) status
- A background check through the Clearinghouse (if hired)
Makes deliveries to customers using a company‑provided or rental vehicle. Maintains delivery records, inspects and maintains vehicles, and provides customer service on order and delivery issues. The position includes operation of a delivery vehicle during the average work week, with continuous monitoring of MVRs.
Responsibilities- Deliver customer orders safely within service area and interface with customers on order issues
- Load inventory into trucks and unload orders at customer sites using powered and non‑powered equipment
- Review order manifests for accuracy
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and internal policies
- Maintain routine contact with distribution center for delivery interruptions or missing orders
- Prepare and maintain vehicle and customer order records
- Contact customers to provide delivery status updates
- Provide feedback to management on escalated customer service and sales issues
- Refer complex, unusual problems to supervisor
- Under general supervision, exercise judgment following well‑defined policies and procedures, with regular review by senior coworker or supervisor
- Comfortable environment with exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes
- Intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion (walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, maneuvering heavy or awkward materials up to 50+ pounds)
- Occasional overnight travel (less than 10% of time)
- High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred
- Specialized skills training or certification may be required
- Generally 2–5 years of experience in area of responsibility
