Position Details
The First Year Pre-Major Programs and the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) at the University of Washington Bothell (UWB) invites applications with an anticipated start date of September 26, 2026. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in Teaching Rhetoric and Composition in UWB's first-year writing program and demonstrate commitment in best practices in composition studies. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a part-time;
33.33%
FTE range basis for a three-month non-renewable appointment beginning September 26, 2026.
The base salary range for this position will be $6353-$ 6,500 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
First Year and Pre-Major Programs (FYPP) is the home of our first and second year (or pre-major) students at UW Bothell. The FYPP mission is to support the successful transition to college of First Year and Pre-Major students and to provide the foundation on which they will continue scholarly and professional development and commits us to creating an inclusive and ethically responsible learning environment.
IAS houses fifteen undergraduate and two graduate programs. UW Bothell is located in the Seattle metropolitan area and provides faculty members with access to the research and funding resources of the entire UW system.
