Dogwood Industries is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to support our Engineering & Design team in delivering modular industrial and defense facilities. In this role, you will analyze and design steel and concrete building systems, connections, and foundations for rugged, relocatable, and permanent structures. You'll produce structural drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring code compliance, safety, and constructability for factory-built projects. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll optimize designs for modular fabrication, transport, and installation, and provide technical support through manufacturing and field deployment.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys practical problem-solving, accountability, and hands-on impact on critical infrastructure projects nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for modular industrial and defense facilities, ensuring safety and code compliance.
- Develop structural drawings, details, and specifications in coordination with Architecture, MEP, and manufacturing teams.
- Optimize designs for modular fabrication, transport, and rapid installation in rugged environments.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support field teams during installation and commissioning.
- Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and continuous improvement of standard structural systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to meet schedule, budget, and quality targets on multiple concurrent projects.
- Support preparation of calculations and documentation for permitting, client submittals, and third-party reviews.
- Contribute to and uphold Dogwood's safety-focused, mission-driven, and high-accountability culture.
