We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Public Works Supervisor - Storm Operations to lead stormwater maintenance, flood response, NPDES compliance, and infrastructure protection programs. This position provides leadership for storm operations, emergency response coordination, regulatory compliance, and staff development to support public safety, environmental stewardship, and reliable stormwater system performance.

Schedule will be the following: Mondays-Thursdays (4/10) every Friday off (6:00 am - 4:30 pm)

What will you do in this position?
  • Lead and coordinate stormwater maintenance operations including inspections, system cleaning, repairs, vegetation management, street sweeping coordination, flood preparedness, and infrastructure protection activities.
  • Manage compliance with Washington State Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit requirements, including IDDE investigations, spill response, inspections, reporting, maintenance tracking, and environmental coordination.
  • Oversee daily operations by setting priorities, directing staffing and scheduling, coordinating emergency and flood response efforts, addressing drainage concerns, and allocating resources to maintain safe and reliable operations.
  • Supervise and support staff through training, field oversight, safety leadership, performance accountability, SOP implementation, succession planning, and ongoing workforce development.
  • Provide administrative and operational leadership through budget and contract oversight, Lucity and GIS coordination, contractor management, regional collaboration, regulatory communication, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
