Job Overview

The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Accounting Technician I/II in the Financial Services Department. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.

Responsibilities

To perform a variety of technical accounting functions involving accounts payable and receivables, reconciling and monitoring accounting transactions using established procedures and guidelines; and to process medical billing.

Education, Training, and Experience – Accounting Technician I
  • Education, Training, and

    Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent supplemented with a minimum of two (2) post‑high school training courses in bookkeeping or accounting, and one (1) year of technical and computerized accounting experience, including varied clerical work.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Position may require specialized skills, experience, certification, or other requirements which will be identified by the hiring authority at the time of recruitment.
Education, Training, and Experience – Accounting Technician II
  • Education, Training, and

    Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) post‑high school course study classes in accounting, bookkeeping, or automated financial management systems; two (2) years of full‑time technical accounting work experience, preferably in a government agency; and one (1) year of work experience in varied clerical administrative support.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Position may require specialized skills, experience, certification, or other requirements which will be identified by the hiring authority at the time of recruitment.
