PASSIVE ACTIVITY CLASS INSTRUCTOR - Parks & Recreation

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, teach individuals and/or groups of various sizes in a passive setting, in year round recreation program. Classes include, but are not limited to, Arts, Crafts, Music, and Lecture format. Perform other related work as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Effectively teach groups and/or individuals in the City's passive recreation program. Communicate courteously and effectively with all other city employees, officials, patrons, and students. Enforce policies and procedures for the recreation program and its participants. Supervise large groups of participants both visually and audibly to ensure health/safety standards are implemented and maintained.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

May be required to carry, push, pull, drag and/or hold up to 30 pounds of furniture or equipment. Perform minor maintenance chores.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES:

Certification required when applicable for specific courses/classes to be taught.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, AND

SKILLS:

Must have the ability to teach and communicate effectively using whatever skills are necessary. Must present required evidence of experience and background/references. Must be able to demonstrate required ability/skill.
