Construction Supervisor-Level 4 - Lead (15+ Years)
This role provides strategic oversight and technical support for large-scale energy projects. The position involves contractor monitoring, oversight of assigned work, and ensuring project execution aligns with design criteria and specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for route development and refinement for energy projects, requiring a functional understanding of key criteria such as cost, engineering concerns, and environmental constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project buildout to ensure safety and quality standards are followed.
- Communicate and coordinate with contractors, supervisors, management, and other stakeholders.
- Manage construction schedules and ensure safety compliance.
- Oversee quality control and quality assurance to ensure work meets design requirements.
- Provide project support as directed by leadership for all construction-related activities.
- Liaise between the contractor and project management.
- Conduct environmental oversight.
- Provide strategic oversight for project execution, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize routing decisions.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to address routing risks and integrate financial and engineering concerns.
- Develop, refine, and verify project routes through field visits to support pre-construction preparation.
Required Qualifications
Education:
An Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
A minimum of 15 years of experience managing and overseeing large-scale construction projects, including generation tie-in and transmission projects. Extensive experience in high-level project decision-making, risk mitigation, and leadership within a regulated construction environment is required.
Skills:
- Experience with route refinement using value engineering or similar concepts.
- Ability to perform routing and siting tradeoff decisions in the presence of uncertainty.
- Capability to identify and evaluate routing risks with input from subject matter experts.
- Strong problem-solving skills within highly regulated permitting requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for discussing risks with experts in Engineering, Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain sight of the larger project vision.
Additional Information
Travel within the US is expected at approximately 25%. A valid, non-restricted driver's license is required as driving will be a part of the position duties. Per diem and mobilization/demobilization expenses are available for this assignment.
