SUMMARY OF

JOB PURPOSE:

Our core purpose of providing substance use treatment is to guide our youth and families toward an understanding of and overcoming substance use, building essential life skills, and fostering resilience. LADC will be responsible for direct client service, clinical assessments, treatment planning, treatment progress notes, and 90-day treatment plan updates to evaluate effectiveness of treatment. Responsible for maintaining adherence to regulations set forth by NV Medicaid and grant funding, as applicable to each client’s treatment.

Contractor will provide clinical services for St. Jude’s Ranch for Children within the scope of Contractor’s professional license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.

  • Conduct substance use screenings, assessments, and intakes in compliance with Medicaid and grant requirements.
  • Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based or evidence-informed practices.
  • Develop, implement, and update medical-necessity-driven quarterly treatment plans.
  • Deliver crisis intervention, relapse prevention, and harm-reduction support as appropriate
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with Medicaid Chapters 100 and 400, grants, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2 Standards.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, schools, case managers, medical providers, and community partners to enhance coordination of care.
  • Support youth and families using trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Participate in monthly clinical supervision with Clinical Director or designee.
  • Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Clinical Department, and represent the organization with dignity, integrity, and a spirit of cooperation in all interactions with staff and the community.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Clinical Specialist must meet the requirements of a QMHP or QMHA through Nevada Medicaid. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:
  • A master’s degree with a clinical license in Alcohol and Drug Counseling.
Knowledge and Skill:
  • Minimum two years post-graduate experience providing substance use services.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, transitional-age youth, and/or families.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorders (preferred).
  • Experience with Medicaid-billable or grant-funded programs (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently while aligning with agency policies and funding requirements (preferred).
  • Willingness to supervise other clinicians, interns, and trainees (preferred).
  • Maintain professional and general liability insurance.
  • Maintain licensure, certifications, and continuing education.
  • Responsible for own taxes and business expenses.
  • Valid Nevada state driver's license, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance.
  • CPR/first aid certification.
  • Complete annual continuing education as required by department of family services and Medicaid to maintain approved provider status.
  • Age minimum of 21 years.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
