Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk‑in cooler.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.

• Orientation and training provided on the job.
• Communication skills: comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.

• Perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly (calculator allowed).
• Make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid and accurate movements.
• Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Navigate adverse terrain, including multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.

• Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when delivering product, driving, and couponing.
• In‑store temperatures ranging from 36°F in cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas.
• Sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside.
• Exposure to fumes from food odors and cornmeal dust.
• Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler.
• Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher.
• Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.

• Speaking and hearing on telephone. Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks.
• Depth perception.
• Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
• Far vision and night vision for driving.

The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions.

• Standing: most tasks performed from a standing position; walking surfaces include ceramic tile, bricks, and linoleum; height of work surfaces between 36" and 48".
• Walking: short distances for short durations; delivering between store and vehicle and to customer’s location.
• Sitting: paperwork normally completed in an office at a desk or table.
• Lifting: bulk product deliveries up to 50 pounds with dimensions up to 3' x 1.5'; cases lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72" high.
• Carrying: large cans (3 pounds, 7 ounces), pizza sauce (30 pounds), three trays of pizza dough (~12 pounds each) carried over short distances; during delivery, carrying pizzas and beverages while walking and climbing.
• Pushing: move trays on dollies; stack of trays on a dolly up to 30" requires force up to 7.5 pounds; trays may also be pulled.
• Climbing: infrequently navigate stairs or ladder to change signs, wash walls, or perform maintenance; during delivery may navigate five or more flights of stairs.
• Stooping/Bending: forward bending at waist necessary at pizza assembly station; duration 30‑45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously; also present at front counter and stocking ingredients.
• Crouching/Squatting: performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
• Hand Tasks: eye‑hand coordination essential; continuous use of hands during the day; frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists for shaping dough; manipulating pizza peel, rolling cutter, cardboard box packing; grasping cans, phone, pizza cutter, pizza peel, and boxes.

• Deliver product by car to customer’s door.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Possess navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings.
