Established real estate development and construction organization seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and financial operations across multiple entities. This role oversees financial reporting, transaction accounting, audit coordination, and operational controls in a complex, multi-entity environment.

This is an in-office position in Boulder, CO.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review complex journal entries (depreciation, asset activity, accruals, intercompany transactions, allocations).
• Manage monthly close, financial reporting, and supporting schedules.
• Track and record home and lot sales, deposits, cost of sales, and work-in-process.
• Oversee multi-entity bookkeeping and maintain accurate general ledgers.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as primary liaison with external CPA firms.
• Maintain compliance documentation related to closings, title, and project records.
• Partner with internal teams, lenders, title companies, and auditors.

Qualifications:

• 5–10+ years of accounting experience.
• Construction and/or real estate development accounting experience required.
• Multi-entity accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency with Quick Books or similar accounting systems.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and hands-on.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
