Job SummaryThe Office of Safety and Facilities is seeking a dedicated, service-oriented Work-Study Assistant to support campus facilities operations. This primarily hands-on position includes setting up and breaking down classrooms and event spaces, moving and assembling furniture, and assisting with general facilities projects. The assistant will work under the supervision of professional staff to help maintain safe, functional, and well-organized campus spaces while gaining practical experience in facilities operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Assist with setting up and breaking down classrooms, meeting rooms, and event spaces according to department needs
- Move, assemble, disassemble, and rearrange furniture and equipment safely and efficiently
- Support general facilities projects, including basic maintenance and organization tasks
- Assist staff with campus space preparations to ensure environments are safe, functional, and presentable
- Follow safety guidelines and proper lifting techniques while performing assigned tasks
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work assignments and progress
- Maintain a professional and service oriented approach when interacting with campus staff and students
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Office of Safety and Facilities
- Student must be awarded federal work study hours by the Financial Aid office in order to fill this position.
- High degree of emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and assertive communication skills.
- Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
- Ability to do some light to heavy lifting.
- Willingness to help with housekeeping duties as required.

- Ability to work as scheduled; must be available evenings and weekends.
