Position Overview

Undergraduate Evaluator:
Technician II – a classified staff, full‑time position in CU Boulder’s Domestic Admissions/Operations department. The role evaluates domestic admissions applications, classifies student residency, and provides expertise on institutional admissions rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate admissions applications and supporting documents for completeness and consistency, code and enter data into the student information system, and correct errors.
  • Review transcripts, test scores, and other documents to verify official status, calculate GPAs, determine admit type codes, and generate letters to applicants regarding missing requirements.
  • Convert grades from various GPA scales to a common scale, enter records, and apply standard conversion practices for consistency.
  • Review high‑school transcripts for course completion and relevance, enter grades, and resolve any inconsistencies.
  • Determine transfer credit eligibility of colleges attended by applicants, verify enrollment hours, points, and GPAs, and enter data in standard format.
  • Advise applicants and stakeholders on campus admission rules, state and federal regulations, FERPA, tuition classification, and other requirements through email, phone, and office email accounts.
  • Apply Colorado tuition‑classification statutes to determine in‑state tuition entitlement based on domicile information.
  • Test system changes, identify problems, and document corrections.
  • Participate in training, develop reference documents and manual pieces, and support routine tasks such as running queries, processing holds, deferrals, program changes, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be a Colorado resident.
  • Minimum two years of relevant, job‑related experience (education may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis).
  • Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
  • Detail‑oriented, independent problem‑solver, and collaborative team player.
  • Strong decision‑making ability and ability to follow established processes and manuals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Annual salary base $44,376 (higher step pay may apply for prior experience).
