Job Description Summary

This role will be supporting the Deputy Court Administrator and requires a cover letter to be addressed to him, Jose Lopez-Nava. Under general supervision, the administrative specialist performs various professional analysis, support, and coordination duties to support the Boulder Municipal Court's daily operations.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides clerical support such as organizing and retrieving information, scheduling appointments for both the Court Administrator and Deputy Court Administrator and supporting court operations.
  • Coordinates and facilitates meetings.
  • Provides professional staff support to committees, task forces, and managers.
  • Provide customer service for the administrative office.
  • Assists with compiling statistical data for planning purposes.
  • Participates in special projects and committees as needed.
  • Attends meetings and training as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to complete work in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Must successfully pass a background check before first day of work and maintain acceptable screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to demonstrate experience working in administrative services, accounting, or financial roles, preferably in a municipal government setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to follow up on issues.
  • Ability to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, including effectively establishing and maintaining working relationships with individuals at all levels in the organization and external vendors and customers.
Minimum Required

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of related experience
  • Ability to acquire and maintain Colorado Bureau of Investigation operator security number.

Working Conditions and Requirements
  • Physical and mental effort:
    Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits the employee to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person. Sufficient vision or other powers of observation that permits the employee to review, evaluate and prepare a variety of written documents and materials. Sufficient manual dexterity that permits the employee to operate computer equipment and other office equipment.

    Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to work in an office setting. Work may include extended periods of time viewing a computer video monitor and/or operating a keyboard.
  • Work Environment:
    Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment. Works in a setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises. Requires schedule flexibility, occasionally working nights and weekends.
  • Machines and Equipment Used:
    Frequently uses standard office equipment including computers, telephones, calculators and copy/fax machines.
