Job Description How You'll Perform the Role
The Product Manager - Eco-Products is responsible for using data, customer insights, competitive information and market trends to develop actionable product portfolio and innovation plans. Reporting to the Director of Product Development, this role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams in the development and management of products throughout their lifecycle. This includes defining the product strategy and roadmap for assigned product categories, overseeing product development initiatives and certifications, managing suppliers setup, facility audits, and factory certifications and quality processes.

Responsibilities- Be an expert with respect to the company, its products, customers, sales channels and competition within assigned market segments
- Build and present business cases with cost targets and profitability expectations
- Manage product development process including project management, product approval, and product set-up for products within assigned categories
- Gather feedback from sales and customers, evaluate market trends and create a competitor analysis that informs product portfolio decisions, such SKU rationalization or new product development
- Evaluate product performance metrics and use data insights to aid in new product development strategy and product management
- Manage/maintain database of key product specifications and attributes across assigned product categories
- Drive the cross-functional team to develop and implement a launch plan that is timely, accurate, and compelling
- Oversee product testing or collection of testing results in assigned product categories, ensuring compliance with food safety, compo stability or recyclability requirements (examples include FDA, ASTM, BPI, FSC)
- Coordinate new supplier onboarding process including gathering and evaluating factory certifications, collecting product specifications and formulations and documenting supplier QC process
- Maintain a compliance framework to ensure environmental, social and quality certifications are available and up-to-date
- Manage QC issues as they arise. Confirm defect and extent of issue; communicate with customers and sales on cause, corrective action, and resolution
- Support product carton footprint reporting, item attribute data for Impact Reports and reporting initiatives that ensure legislative compliance of our products
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- Self-starter with a proven ability to assemble action plans independently and execute them within a cross functional environment on time and on-budget
- Ability to think proactively, propose change, and solve problems creatively
- Demonstrated success managing all stages of the product lifecycle
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
- Strong understanding of consumer insights, market trends, and competitive dynamics
- Ability to evaluate and interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to excellence
- Inclination towards sustainability in business and personal environments a plus
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, emphasis on Excel and Power Point
- Knowledge of Power BI a plus
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing, category management, quality assurance, new product development or product engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Data analytics or science-based field; MBA a plus.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,000 - $120,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
