Product Manager – Eco-Products

The Product Manager – Eco-Products is responsible for using data, customer insights, competitive information, and market trends to develop actionable product portfolio and innovation plans. Reporting to the Director of Product Development, this role collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams in the development and management of products throughout their lifecycle, including defining product strategy, overseeing product development initiatives, managing suppliers, and ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Be an expert of the company, its products, customers, sales channels, and competition within assigned market segments.
  • Build and present business cases with cost targets and profitability expectations.
  • Manage product development process including project management, product approval, and product set‑up for assigned categories.
  • Gather feedback from sales and customers; evaluate market trends and conduct competitor analyses that inform portfolio decisions, SKU rationalization, or new product development.
  • Evaluate product performance metrics and use data insights to guide new product development strategy and product management.
  • Maintain database of key product specifications and attributes across assigned categories.
  • Guide the cross‑functional team to develop and implement timely, accurate, and compelling launch plans.
  • Oversee product testing or collection of results, ensuring compliance with food safety, compostability, or recyclability requirements (e.g., FDA, ASTM, BPI, FSC).
  • Coordinate new supplier onboarding, evaluating factory certifications, collecting specifications, and documenting QC processes.
  • Maintain compliance framework for environmental, social, and quality certifications.
  • Manage QC issues, confirm defect extent, and communicate corrective actions to customers and sales.
  • Support product carton footprint reporting and impact reporting initiatives for legislative compliance.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
  • Self‑starter with proven ability to assemble action plans independently and deliver on time and on budget.
  • Proactive thinker who proposes change and solves problems creatively.
  • Demonstrated success managing all stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of consumer insights, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Inclination toward sustainability in business (plus).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Power BI (plus).
  • 5+ years in product marketing, category management, quality assurance, new product development, or product engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics or a science‑based field; MBA a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range is $110,000 – $120,000 plus bonus and benefits.
