About the Camp

Camp runs Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM. Camp ends August 14. Before- and after-care are offered, providing opportunities for additional hours if available. Counselors may be sent home on a rotating basis if camper participation is low.

Training & Certifications
  • Camp Counselor training begins May 18 and is one weeklong and paid.
  • During training, counselors will receive:
    • CPR certification
    • Basic First Aid training
    • Epi Pen tutorial with our resident nurse
Camp Schedule
  • Camp runs Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM.
  • Typical schedule:

    Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:00 PM.
Compensation
  • $17.00 – $18.50 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Additional Compensation Includes:
    • Bonuses

Benefits
  • Free lunch every day.
  • Free golf for employees on Mondays after 2:30 PM.
  • Flexible schedules may be approved by the Camp Supervisor based on daily camp-to-counselor ratios.
Employment Length & Availability
  • 13-week commitment.
  • Must be available to work all 13 weeks of the summer.
  • Time off for a long weekend is normally approved if staffing levels allow.
Hours Per Week
  • 30–40 hours.
Position Overview

This is the perfect summer job for a college student or anyone with experience working with children. Our camp is located on the Boulder Country Club campus and is truly loads of fun. We have experienced returning counselors who lead and support the counselor team. Experience working with kids in sports, games, art, swimming, and general engagement is a huge plus.

Counselors

must be:
  • Extremely playful in spirit and nature.
  • Creative and able to come up with fun group games for ages 4-11.
  • Lively, fun, and energetic with safety in mind always.
  • Able to bring high energy and sportiness for 8 hours a day, every day.

If you are not a high‑energy and sporty person, this role can be very tiring, as it involves long hours outdoors, in the sun, with children.

Program Activities
  • Games and sports.
  • Art with an Art Teacher.
  • Swimming (daily).
  • Field trips come in house.
  • Each counselor contributes by serving as Counselor of the Week and creating their own games for campers.

All Camp Counselors are required to be in the pool during swim/play time. Swimming daily is a requirement.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • An essential function of this position includes escorting minors in male-only or female-only restrooms and locker rooms, which is a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ).
  • Guide and teach a range of sports and activities.
  • Ensure camper safety and always monitor activities.
  • Set up and take down camp equipment.
  • Supervise campers during meals and breaks.
  • Instruct campers in daily routines and cleanup tasks.
  • Follow all safety and emergency procedures and guidelines.
  • Be playful, fun, and sporty for 8 hours per day.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to swim well (swimming is part of the daily role).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, carry, reach, use hands and arms, and project voice to engage large groups of children.
  • Able to tolerate hot outdoor conditions and sun exposure for extended periods.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to work in a busy, noisy, outdoor environment.
  • Must meet and perform all physical requirements typical of this position.
  • Required vision abilities include close and distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
  • Exposed to both hot and cold weather conditions.
