Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Painting & Drywall Project Manager runs projects in the field once they're sold — coordinating crews, managing timelines, and making sure both painting and drywall/texture work are completed to True Coat's standards. This is a hands‑on, on‑site role for someone who knows the trade, can spot a problem before it becomes a delay, and keeps customers and crews aligned throughout the life of a project.

Responsibilities
  • Manage residential and commercial projects from kickoff through final walkthrough, including both painting and drywall/texture scopes.
  • Schedule crews and subcontractors, sequence work correctly (e.g., drywall repair and texture‑matching ahead of paint), and keep projects moving on timeline.
  • Conduct site walkthroughs to assess drywall damage, texture matching needs, and surface prep requirements before and during work.
  • Order and coordinate materials, ensuring the right products, sheens, textures, and colors are on‑site when needed.
  • Monitor project budgets and labor hours to keep jobs on track against the estimated margin.
  • Perform quality checks throughout each project — drywall patch and texture blending, prep work, and final paint finish.
  • Catch and resolve issues (surface defects, color mismatches, texture inconsistencies) before they become customer complaints.
  • Ensure crews follow proper safety practices and True Coat's quality standards on every job.
  • Serve as the on‑site point of contact for customers during active projects, providing clear updates on progress and timeline.
  • Communicate proactively with the sales and office team on project status, changes in scope, or delays.
  • Manage crew performance and provide on‑the‑job coaching and direction.
  • Support smooth handoff from sales/estimating into execution, and from execution into final customer sign‑off.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in construction project management – a significant hands‑on trade experience with project oversight responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of painting prep and application.
  • Strong scheduling and organizational skills – able to manage multiple crews and projects at different stages simultaneously.
  • Comfortable leading and coaching crews in the field.
  • Clear communicator, both with customers and internally with the office team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites across the Denver/Boulder Front Range.
  • A quality‑first mindset – you catch the details others miss.
What Success Looks Like
  • Projects completed on time, on budget, and at or above target gross margin.
  • Excellent customer communication and a positive customer experience.
  • Consistent quality across both drywall and paint scopes, with minimal callbacks.
  • Strong customer satisfaction and positive reviews tied to project execution.
  • Crews that are well‑coordinated, safety‑conscious, and hitting daily production targets.
Compensation

$75,000 - $105,000 yearly
