Job Overview
Work In Progress , LLC seeks a Senior Copywriter + Social Content Creator in Boulder, CO. The duties of this position include:
- Work closely with Senior Art Director, Account + Strategy, Production and Technology personnel to manage a high volume of work and projects for assigned accounts.
- Maintain consistently high standards of writing which will enhance the agency-client relationship, with minimal revisions and rounds of feedback from Creative Directors and CCO.
- Help develop and guide creative ideas based on input from client, Account Executive, and personal research.
- Monitor and take ownership for the progress of assigned projects through each phase of development, such as layout, production, media, and research.
- Submit copy (depending on work assignments for specific accounts) to the Associate Creative Director or Creative Director for review, feedback and revisions.
- Assure accuracy, completeness, and neatness of work product from initial submission to Associate Creative Director or Creative Director through final copy and final deliverables with minimal revision and guidance, including spelling, grammar, character/syllable count, etc.
- Create high quality scripts for radio and videos with minimal oversight.
- Meet copy deadlines or secure advance approval from the Account Executive/Creative Director if additional time is needed; set deadlines for junior copywriters and interns on project team.
- Take and keep thorough file notes and minutes of meetings and phone calls for own reference, including feedback sessions with Creative Directors, all-team meetings with Creative and Account + Strategy, and client feedback meetings.
- Contribute ideas that are strategically aligned with the brand's past work, current work, positioning, and goals to generate more client activity beyond normally scheduled projects. This can include presenting work to clients about such ideas when the opportunity arises to pre-sell them.
- Consistently participate in client-agency meetings at the agency, including leading the creative portion and presenting strategy and creative concepts.
- Act as Creative Director and mentor to interns and copywriters on various projects and assignments, including social copy, email, radio scripts, video scripts, organic social content, paid social content, and more.
- Attend video productions on behalf of agency with clients and production companies and lead conversations representing point of view of Work In Progress in pre-production, during the shoot itself, and in post-production including edit.
- Responsible for audio records for radio and video productions without supervision.
- Review the portfolios and resumes of intern and copywriter applicants.
- Develop and produce engaging visual and written content---including images, videos, and graphics---for clients across various social media platforms to build brand awareness and drive engagement. Key responsibilities include content planning, writing compelling copy, creating and editing multimedia assets, analyzing performance, and collaborating with marketing teams to align content with client goals. Strong skills in creative storytelling, visual design, platform knowledge, and communication are essential.
- Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in Advertising, Communications, or a related field, plus 4 years of experience in advertising copywriting at creative agencies that have been recognized by AdAge (A-List and Small Agency Awards) or Adweek (Agency of the Year) and produced Effie and Cannes Lion winning advertising. In addition, the following specific experience is also required: - 4 years of experience with managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, working across more than one brand concurrently.
- Wrote copy for at least three 360 campaigns within the last 3 years, including radio and video/tv, and attended and participated in the production and editing process. Campaigns must be in English.
- Must have relevant portfolio with U.S.
