The Senior Apparel Designer is responsible for delivering brand-elevating, production-ready apparel with a primary focus on women’s while also contributing to the men’s line, in alignment with Pact’s sustainability mission, quality standards, and commercial goals. A core focus of this role is designing with GOTS-certified organic cotton materials, ensuring thoughtful execution across knit and woven constructions from initial concept through final approval.

This position plays a key role in shaping Pact’s all-over print and graphic strategy, partnering closely with the Print team to develop original, repeat-ready artwork that translates seamlessly across knit and woven applications. The Senior Apparel Designer manages one direct report (Technical Designer) and serves as a creative and executional leader across cross-functional partners.

Location & Reporting
  • Location: Boulder, CO (Hybrid) Monday
    - Thursday in office, Friday WFH
  • Reports to: Design Manager
  • Travel: Limited international travel may be required
Key Responsibilities Design Ownership & Creative Leadership
  • Own the full design lifecycle for assigned apparel categories—from seasonal concept and design direction through final, production-ready designs.
  • Translate brand strategy, trend insights, and customer needs into compelling, commercially viable apparel.
  • Design with a strong understanding of organic cotton materials, knit structures, and fabric capabilities to ensure quality, consistency, and feasibility.
  • Ensure designs align with Pact’s sustainability standards, fit expectations, and cost targets.
Print Design & Artwork Translation
  • Partner closely with the Print team to conceptualize and develop all-over prints, engineered graphics, and repeat patterns.
  • Translate artwork into production-ready applications, considering scale, placement, color, knit construction, and repeat accuracy.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Pact’s print language and seasonal storytelling across categories.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Manage and mentor one Technical Designer, fostering clear communication, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Partner closely with Technical Design to ensure design intent, fit, and construction are executed accurately throughout development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing, and Production to align on timelines, cost, and execution.
Execution & Process
  • Manage multiple styles and categories simultaneously, adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Participate in fittings, reviews, and key development milestones to maintain design integrity through production.
  • Maintain organized and accurate design documentation, including sketches, specs, print callouts, and seasonal decks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve design workflows, processes, and product outcomes.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of apparel design experience, preferably within a DTC or fast-paced consumer brand.
  • Demonstrated experience designing across women’s and men’s apparel, including intimates, dresses, and core knit programs.
  • Strong background in essentials, underwear, or tee programs.
  • Proven experience developing all-over prints, engineered graphics, and repeat patterns in collaboration with print teams.
  • Working knowledge of sustainable materials, particularly GOTS-certified organic cotton.
  • Experience managing or mentoring at least one direct report.
  • Menswear design experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and production processes.
  • Ability to balance creative vision with commercial and operational realities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and PLM systems.

Compensation
  • Salary Range: $90,000–$105,000 annually
  • Bonus: Up to 10% of salary
  • Benefits: Comprehensive health benefits, partially company-sponsored
