Role DescriptionThis is a part-time, on-site role located in Boulder, CO, for a Tour Guide. The Tour Guide will lead private walking tours through The Hill, CU Campus, and surrounding areas, providing an engaging, personal, and high-energy experience for visitors.
The role involves sharing authentic stories and lived experiences at CU Boulder, offering local insights and recommendations, and delivering exceptional customer service. Tour Guides serve as trusted resources for prospective students and families who want to understand what life at CU is truly like.
Additional responsibilities may include answering visitor inquiries, ensuring schedules are met, following up with guests, and contributing ideas to improve the tour experience as the company grows.
Growth Opportunity:This role is a strong entry point into the business and, for the right person, has the potential to grow into a leadership position such as Operations Manager and eventually Chief Operating Officer (COO) as Tour The Hill Boulder scales.
Qualifications- Sophomore preferred, with freshmen and juniors welcome
- Passionate about helping people and excited about CU Boulder
- Extroverted, high energy, and confident leading groups
- Strong communication and storytelling skills
- High emotional intelligence and strong people skills
- Professional, reliable, and punctual
- Knowledgeable about CU Boulder, student life, housing, Greek life, restaurants, and Boulder culture
- Ability to work on site in Boulder, CO, and willingness to walk or stand for extended periods
- Prior tour guiding experience is a plus but not required
- Willing to look work on this throughout college
- A personalized recommendation for future jobs
- Real world customer service experience
- Public speaking and communication skills
- Internal entrepreneurship experience by helping build and improve a growing company
