We are looking for passionate and qualified Early Childhood teachers to join our Faculty at Boulder Waldorf Kindergarten and Preschool this summer. Boulder Waldorf Kindergarten and Preschool is an Early Childhood center serving ages 12 months through 6 years. We have two Lifeways (toddler) classrooms that are year-round programs, two Preschool/KG classrooms, and a ten-week Preschool/KG Summer Camp program. We are situated on a beautiful one+ acre property with chickens, goats, rabbits, organic gardens and fruit trees, and a large open play yard.
Qualified candidates have their Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0, with a minimum rating of Level 2, per the Colorado Department of Education. Strong candidates have some level of Waldorf Early Childhood training or experience.
Boulder Waldorf Kindergarten, founded in 1998, is a full member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and a Lifeways Representative Program.
Primary Functions- Morning Assistant Teacher – Preschool/KG Summer Camp
- Hours:
8am - 1pm - Ages of Children: 3 - 6
- Salary: $25/hour
- To assist the Lead Teacher in the planning of each day, in the carrying out of the classroom program and activities and in the classroom management and supervision of a class.
- To take direction from the Lead Teacher regarding classroom management and day-to-day responsibilities according to the principles of Waldorf Education.
- Assist with snack preparations, practical and artistic classroom activities and play time.
- Assist in presenting seasonal songs, stories and puppetry.
- Maintain general order, cleanliness, and aesthetics in classroom and campus.
- Hours:
- Afternoon Rest Program Teacher – Preschool/KG Summer Camp
- Hours:
12:15pm - 3:45pm - Ages of Children: 3 - 6
- Salary: $25/hour
- Bringing in children’s bedding and lunches from cubbies
- Joining children at table during lunch.
- Reading stories and singing songs while children fall asleep and rest.
- Planning of each day, carrying out of the classroom program and activities and in the classroom management and supervision of the class.
- Classroom management and day-to-day responsibilities according to the principles of Waldorf Education.
- Present seasonal songs, stories, and puppetry.
- Maintain general order, cleanliness, and aesthetics in classroom and campus.
- Hours:
- Lead Teacher – Toddler Program
- Hours:
8am - 1pm - Ages of Children: 12 months to 3 years
- Salary: $40/hour with completed Waldorf teacher training, $30/hour without the training
- Availability:
We do not need to fill this position for the full ten weeks of summer. Applicants who have partial availability are encouraged to apply. - Maintain general order, cleanliness and aesthetics in classroom and cubby room.
- Daily preparation of classroom, materials and playground.
- Offer experiences typical in the Waldorf curriculum such as storytelling, watercolor painting, handwork, free play, dramatic experience, and music.
- Offer daily experiences with an emphasis on meaningful life task-oriented activities such as gardening, weeding, raking, sweeping, laundry folding, baking, sewing, polishing, grain-grinding, dishwashing, etc.
- Assume full responsibility for children during school day including transitions inside and outside, circle time, celebrations, playground supervision, storytelling, and clean-up.
- Oversee preparation of daily snacks.
- Ensure that program and classroom meet the licensing requirements, under the leadership of the School Director.

Our summer programs are held primarily outside on our beautiful play yards with animals and gardens, incorporating a healthy rhythm of expansive play and focused activities.
