Job Summary
The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering (CEAE) at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) invites applications for a non-tenure-track Teaching Professor position in Architectural and Civil Engineering, to be hired at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or Associate Teaching Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is part of CEAE's commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate education, with a particular emphasis on high-quality instruction, inclusive pedagogy, and student engagement across architectural engineering and civil engineering curricula.
We seek candidates who are passionate about teaching and who demonstrate excellence (or a strong potential for excellence) in instructional practice. Ideal candidates will contribute to both core and elective courses in architectural and civil engineering. Teaching responsibilities may include introductory first-year seminars, senior design capstone courses in architectural and/or civil engineering, thermodynamics, mechanical systems, and other courses aligned with the candidate's area(s) of expertise.
Applicants with experience in curriculum development, delivering courses in online/hybrid formats, experiential or project-based learning, industry engagement, and the integration of contemporary engineering practice into the classroom are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates with industry experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) license are also encouraged to apply for the position.
This position is anticipated to be hired at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank; however, qualified candidates may be considered at the Associate Teaching Professor rank.

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering's mission is the education of undergraduate and graduate students to become leaders in the professional practice of engineering, contributing to technological advances that benefit humankind while enhancing Earth's physical and biological resources. The education and research efforts of the department address planning, design, construction, and management of the built environment as well as in the interaction between the built and natural environment.
The Department has 41 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 10 teaching faculty, and 5 research professors across six engineering specialty areas and four interdisciplinary areas. The Department is home to 400 undergraduate and 155 graduate students.
