Job Summary

The Division of Continuing Education at the University of Colorado, Boulder is seeking a CSPB Program Manager and Student Advising Professional! This position provides quality, innovative, lifelong learning opportunities for a diverse student population by extending the educational resources of the university to the Boulder community, the state of Colorado, and beyond. This role is a full‑time, exempt position reporting to an assistant director of Continuing Education’s Program Strategy & Operations Group (PSOG).

The Post‑Baccalaureate Computer Science Program (CSPB) is a specialized program offered through the College of Engineering & Applied Science and administered through the Division of Continuing Education. The CSPB program is offered fully online and supports students wishing to pursue a second bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science. Students in the program are highly‑motivated, working professionals, and require specialized, proactive support in order to be successful.

The CSPB Program Manager and Student Advising Professional maintains responsibility for managing and improving the day‑to‑day operations of the Post Baccalaureate Computer Science Program to include providing information and resource navigation for students, faculty, customers, and colleagues; program data research, analysis, and reporting; comprehensive administrative support; program strategy, development, implementation, and review; and proactive student support and engagement. This position serves as the primary point of contact for students in the program, with an emphasis on building productive relationships and providing timely communications to support them in meeting their academic and career goals.

The role works closely with other members of the program support team, including the Faculty Director, recruitment/admissions specialist, and other support staff within Continuing Education.

Key Responsibilities Will Be Student Support and Advising
  • Provide individual support to CSPB students via scheduled virtual appointments (Zoom, phone and email) in a proactive manner with a broad approach to offering academic advising and coaching to students. Maintain contact logs in the CRM system.

  • Communicate degree requirements and options in a clear, accurate, non‑jargoned manner through proactive outreach. Certify student degrees upon completion.

  • Assist students in formulating their educational goals and taking necessary steps to achieve those goals – and create a degree plan which meets the individual needs of each student.

  • Advise program/s and the students on procedures and policies regarding registration, financial aid, payments, etc.

  • Create a sense of belonging, community, and support for a fully remote population of students through onboarding meetings, regular proactive communication, engagement on the program’s Linked In account, and additional community‑building activities.

  • Connect students to resources and support services available to them, including CEAS Career Services, tutoring services, remote mental health services, Veteran and Military Affairs, Disability Services, Financial Aid, etc.
