Job SummaryThe Division of Continuing Education at the University of Colorado, Boulder invites applications for a Tutor/Peer Mentor for our cohort-based Post-Baccalaureate Health Professions program. The primary responsibilities of this position are to create and deliver group and individual tutoring to the students, to provide individualized guidance to fellow post-baccalaureate students, to build a sense of community among students in this population by organizing and participating in periodic social events, to serve as an admissions application reviewer and interviewer, to provide administrative support to the Program Director and Admissions Coordinator, and to provide input on the student perspective to program administrators.
This position reports to the Pre-Health Program Director. The anticipated dates of employment are from May 11, 2026 to May 10, 2027.

What YourKey Responsibilities Will Be Tutoring Responsibilities
In the fall and spring semesters, create and deliver tutoring content in a manner that supports student learning:
- Group tutoring: one, 2‑hour session per academic week
- Individual tutoring: arranged upon request by students
- Arrange group tutoring at times that suit the students’ availability
- Reserve tutoring rooms and notify students of the time and location of tutoring sessions.
- Arrange substitute tutors or reschedule upcoming sessions if you know you must miss a tutoring session in advance
- Serve as a primary point of contact for students who have questions and concerns via in‑person meet‑ups, email, phone, text, and/or Zoom.
- Schedule and conduct 1:1 meetings with each student in the fall and spring terms.
- Connect with incoming students who are joining the cohort program to answer questions and offer a warm welcome.
- Periodically attend Continuing Education Pre‑Health Advising group meetings to answer attendee questions from the student perspective and to generate feedback for the presenter.
- Participate in the program’s community‑building events (including full‑day orientation program, ropes course, etc.) and end‑of‑term celebrations.
- Serve as a student advocate, soliciting feedback and ideas from the students and communicating those suggestions to program staff.
- Refer students, as needed, to appropriate staff and other campus resources.
- Participate in monthly meetings with program staff (each meeting is 1.5 hours in duration), plus occasional additional meetings, as needed.
- Assist the Admissions Coordinator with the admissions process by reviewing Postbac
CAS applications and serving as an admissions interviewer. - Talk with prospective students about the program (by phone, Zoom, or in‑person).
- Create surveys and compile responses
- Coordinate and participate in other special events
- Manage/contribute to the program’s social media accounts
- Review or compose informational handouts for students
The anticipated dates of employment are from May 11, 2026 to May 10, 2027.
This will be an on‑call position, so weekly work hours will be variable. The peer mentor/tutor must be available to work up to with a flexible schedule, to include evening availability, for up to 15 hours per week.
What We Can OfferThe hourly rate for this temporary position is $25.00.
